Paul Clark came to Wheaton the same year that Coach Bob Baptista took over as soccer coach and immediately made an impact. His outstanding ball-control ability fit in nicely and helped Wheaton to a respectable 4-3-1 record. During his second season, the Crusaders improved to a 6-2-1 record, but only could garner second place in the conference. Paul was a part of the forward wall which produced 30 goals in those nine games. The team duplicated its record in his junior year, again tying for second place. Paul was elected captain of the team in his senior year and earned All-American honors.
