Norm Pott, class of 1954, figures in 10 all-time single season and career school basketball categories and his 50 points vs. Millikin remains the single-game scoring mark. Pott’s unstoppable hook shot with either hand, coupled with 75% free throw accuracy, produced 1,768 points (18 ppg), which ranks high on the all-time list. His 13.4 rebounds per game is also high on the all-time school list. Norm led Wheaton to a 1952-53 league title when he average 30.7 points in CCI play and launched Lee Pfund’s coaching career with a 45-20 record in three seasons. He was All-Conference three times, a Helm’s Honorable Mention All-American as a junior, and First Team All-American as a senior.
