    Melody Hopkins Pinkerton, class of 1987, earned 10 individual All-American honors and 16 relay All-American honors from 1984-87 for the Wheaton Swimming team, leading the team to a seventh-place national finish in 1984. She earned All-American honors in the 200-yard backstroke in 1984, 1985, and 1987, placing second at the NCAA Division III Championships in 1984 and 1985. She also won All-American honors in the 200 and 400 individual medleys in 1984 and 1985; the 200-yard butterfly in 1987, and the 1,650-yard freestyle in 1987. In addition to her accomplishments at the national level, Melody also set numerous marks in the state, conference and school record books.
