Linda Chambers Long completed her career as one of the most successful women swimmers in Wheaton history. Linda earned team Most Valuable Performer honors all four seasons she participated at Wheaton (1982-86) and was named Illinois State Small College Swimmer of the Year in 1982-83, 1984-85 and 1985-86. She served as the 1985-86 team captain. Long was a 15-time NCAA Division III All-American and an eight-time CCIW champion. She was also a recipient of an NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship in 1986, partially enabling her to earn a Master’s degree in social work.
