Laura Witt won the 1990 NCAA Division III Individual National Championship in both the 100 and 200-yard freestyle events. For her whole career, she was a six-time individual NCAA Division III All-American and four-time relay All-American. She won individual CCIW Championships five times, setting CCIW records in three events, and was named Conference MVP in 1989. At the end of her senior season, she was a Wheaton varsity record holder in six events, including the 200-yard freestyle. She credits Coach Lederhouse’s persistence, support, and mentorship for the great successes she experienced during her collegiate swimming career.
