Laura Roberts Branine, class of 1986, became Wheaton’s fourth female track and field All-American when she placed sixth at the 1986 NCAA Division III Championships in the heptathlon, scoring a school-record 4,296 points, which stood until two-time All-American heptathlete Heather Pancake scored 4,676 points at the 1997 CCIW Championships. As a senior, Branine ran a time of 15.33 seconds in 100-meter hurdles and recorded the second-best distances in Wheaton history in the triple jump and long jump.
