Katie Shubin was a three-time All-Region selection by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America and was named to the All-CCIW Team three times in her career. The midfielder scored 30 career goals with 23 assists in her four seasons for head coach
Pete Felske's team.
Shubin was a starter on four NCAA Tournament teams in her time at Wheaton, including in 2001 as she helped lead the program to its first NCAA Division III Final Four appearance. She served as a team captain in her junior and senior seasons.
Shubin ranked fourth in total points (83) at the time of her graduation, a mark that is now 14
th. She was also fourth in career goals (30), now is ranked 16
th, and was tied for third with 23 assists (a mark that is now tied for 13
th). She was named the team's "Offensive Player of the Year" as a freshman in 1998.
Shubin mentions, "In the years since graduating from Wheaton, I've had the privelege of serving alongside coach
Pete Felske and fellow alumni as the leadership staff on several Wheaton women's soccer mission trips. Some of the places we've traveled include Senegal, Brazil and the Dominican Republic." She adds, "Throughout my soccer career and continuing into my current involvement with the Wheaton women's soccer team, I am constantly reminded of what it means to live in community while working together as one unit. Being a part of the Wheaton College women's soccer family has been such a gift in my life and I am so grateful for the immeasurable ways it has shaped me into the person I am today."
