Jonathan Burnham was named an Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) All-American as a singles player in 1986, advancing to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Division III Singles Tournament. He also earned All-American recognition as a doubles player in 1986. Jon was selected as the CCIW “Most Outstanding Player” in 1987 and 1988, winning the CCIW No. 1 singles championships both of those seasons. Jon also won four CCIW doubles championships, with three titles at No. 1 doubles and one at No. 2 doubles. Burnham was tabbed as a GTE At-Large Academic All-American and following his time at Wheaton went on to receive Master’s and Doctoral degrees.

Jonathan says of his tennis experience at Wheaton, “I learned that God wants you to develop a game plan and strategy. It is healthy to have goals and work towards them.”
