Jon Black, a 1983 graduate, put together a distinguished career during his time as a diver for the Crusaders. Black earned CCIW Titles on six occasions and was a four-time All-American, finishing as high as third in the one-meter dive at the 1983 National Championships. He also established the school records in both the one-meter and three-meter dive.
Black says of his time at Wheaton, “It was as a diver on the Wheaton College swim team that I first became acutely aware of how God wanted to utilize my talents to serve Him and bring Him glory. I no longer competed simply for personal achievement or recognition as was predominant in my high school career. Rather, my primary purpose became representing Christ as His ambassador.”
