John Pfund played basketball and baseball at Wheaton when the teams were not in the CCIW, so some well-deserved post-season awards eluded him. John played in 101 basketball games during his career and scored 1,890 total points, which ranks him high on the Wheaton career scoring list. A six-foot tall guard, John average 11.0 points per game as a freshman, 18.6 ppg as a sophomore, 21.8 ppg as a junior and 23.3 ppg as a senior. At the conclusion of his senior season, Pfund was awarded All-American status. His 590 points during the 1963-64 season is among the highest point totals in a season in Wheaton history. Pfund also was a member of the baseball team for two seasons. John is the son of legendary Wheaton Basketball and Baseball coach Lee Pfund.
