John O’Neil wrestled under head coach George Olson from 1954-57, earning All-American honors in 1957 and he was a two-time Wheaton Invitational Champion. In 1954, he won the team's only individual title at the Wheaton Invitational and won another title in 1955.
O’Neil notes one lesson that he has been able to apply in his career, “The most important lesson I learned by competing at Wheaton is a great respect for individual performance by others in times of pressure and stress. This has helped me to trust and support colleagues and co-workers when times are challenging.”
