Jeff Van Dixhorn was a standout on the tennis court for the Crusaders. Van Dixhorn was named the 1993 CCIW Player of the Year and a four-time CCIW singles champion. He won the conference title at No. 1 singles in 1993, No. 2 singles in 1992, No. 4 singles in 1991 and No. 3 singles in 1990. He also added CCIW championships at No. 1 doubles in 1992 and No. 2 doubles in 1991.
Van Dixhorn notes of his tennis playing days, “I was privileged to be coached by Jack Swartz who modeled what it meant to be a man of God,” he said. “I also learned that a Christian can compete hard but still be a witness to your opponent.”
