Jeff Brown was the starting quarterback of the first Wheaton College football team to ever make the NCAA Playoffs in 1995. Over the course of his four-year career, Brown racked up impressive passing numbers. He still stands No. 2 in school history with 7,090 passing yards and 67 touchdown passes.

Brown’s best season came in 1995, when he passed for 30 touchdowns and 3,247 yards. Teammates Pedro Arruza and Mark Loeffler were both on the same team and are also inductees this year into the Hall of Honor. In addition, Brown was named a First Team Academic All-American his senior year.

The favorite collegiate sports memory from Jeff’s career was the victory over Augustana College in 1995 to clinch the conference championship. Brown said he also learned a lot about discipline and perseverance from his athletic experience.

“Discipline to train year-round as an athlete, maintain high academic standards and walk closely with God,” Brown said. “And the perseverance to overcome adversity (fumbles, interceptions, losses, etc.) and believe that we could be conference champions and compete for the national title.”

“Jeff was an extremely accurate thrower,” head football coach Mike Swider said. “When you think of Jeff Brown, you think of a guy who wins football games and puts up scores. That’s what that position is all about… You think of him as a winner who moved the chains, completed passes, bought time in the pocket. The greatest compliment I can pay him is he was like our version of Tom Brady.”

Professionally, Brown is founder and Chief Investment Officer for T2 Capital Management, LLC – a private equity real estate company based in Wheaton. Jeff and his wife Becky have five children; Joy, Wyatt, Reid, Nora and Caroline.
