During her four years of competition at Wheaton, Jan Moncier led the Crusaders to a sparkling 40-6 record in basketball, and led the team in scoring all four years. Her senior season, in 1967, she had a career-high of 28 points in a win over Concordia, and she scored 144 points during that season. In 1966, she led all Wheaton scorers with 182 points, and she had 24 of Wheaton’s 41 points in a victory over the University of Illinois. As a sophomore, she had an individual game high of 21 points, the most scored by any Wheaton player in a game that season, and she ended with 155 points. She also led the team, with 73 points, as a freshman.
Moncier said she had many fond memories of the dedication, enthusiasm, and hard work of coaches Mrs. Baptista, Miss Scribner, Miss Bjorklund, and Mrs. Leedy.
