Holly Wentz Reeves, a two-time qualifier for the NCAA Championships in the 800-meter run, was an All-American in the 800-meter run in 1988. She currently stands high in the school record books in the 800-meter run and also was a member of Wheaton’s All-American 1600-meter relay team.
Holly says of her time at Wheaton, “The lesson that I learned while running track and cross country at Wheaton that continues to make an impact in my life today is the process of letting go and letting God have control. I found during my athletic endeavors at Wheaton the more I pushed or the more intense I was the more disappointing my results became. On the contrary, the more I relaxed and believed that God was in control of the outcome, the less pressure I felt and the better I fared in races.”
