Henry Nuss posted an outstanding 66-7-2 career record for the Wheaton wrestling team during the mid 1950s and capped it off by winning 44 matches in a row. The 157-pounder proved he belonged as a freshman by beating a University of Wisconsin wrestler and by going 12-1-1. As a sophomore, Henry captured the title in his weight class at the Wheaton Invitational. In his 21-0 junior year, he took both the CCI and Wheaton Invitational titles and then as a senior co-captain, he captured the tough Case Tech tournament crown by defeating the champion of the Mid-American Conference, 3-0. Eleven of his twelve 1956-57 wins were by fall and he earned the Dawson Trophy three times as the team’s leading point-getter.
