Hank Harrison, a 1961 graduate, led the Wheaton golf team as a member of that squad from 1958 to 1961. As a sophomore, Hank was the medalist in four of seven dual matches and he finished second in the conference meet with a 78-stroke average in two rounds. During the 1961 season, Hank again was the Crusaders’ first or second player. The team finished with a 7-4-1 record and Hank won the Great Lakes Invitational. Harrison co-captained the team in 1961. His season average was just 78.6 strokes and the Cruasders compiled a 10-2 record. Hank and teammate Harold “Mac” Airhart led the team to a second-place finish in the Great Lakes Invitational to cap an outstanding golfing career.
