Greg Campbell compiled a 55-14-1 career record with 21 pins in four seasons as a Crusader wrestler. As a freshman, he was 10-3-1 with 5 pins and finished first in the Great Lakes Invitational. As a sophomore, he was 23-6 with 9 pins, placed second in the CCIW tournament and third in the MacMurray Invitational. He also qualified for the 1968 NCAA National Tournament. As a junior Greg was 13-3 with 4 pins and won the CCIW Championship. In his senior year, 1969-70, he served as team captain and was 9-2 with three pins.

“A wrestling lesson that I have used for many years in encouraging people to become leaders comes from tournament wrestling,” Campbell said. “When I wrestled in a tournament, I knew that win or lose I would need to be physically and emotionally ready to wrestle again in one hour. I could not dwell on the prior win or loss, but I could learn from the experience and try to be a better wrestler the next match. This concept has proven itself over and over to me through the years in both personal and professional life.”
