Frank Lawrence was a strong three-sport athlete for the Crusaders for three years after transferring prior to his sophomore year. In his three years at Wheaton, Frank played varsity basketball, football and he was a sprinter and long jumper on the track team. During the 1933 track season, Lawrence set a long jump record of 23 feet. The record remained in the Wheaton record books for 34 years. Frank was a quick running back with the Crusader football team, even though he did not play organized football until he came to Wheaton. Basketball was regarded as his best sport and he was the high scorer on winning teams each season.
