Donn Nelson, a 1986 graduate, lead Wheaton basketball in scoring for three seasons. He earned All-CCIW Second Team honors twice and All-CCIW First Team and All-Midwest First Team honors as a senior, averaging 17.6 points and 5.6 rebounds. He averaged career-highs of 18.7 points and 6.0 rebounds as a junior. After his junior year, Donn received the Ed Coray Scholarship Award.
Donn has gone on to a career in professional basketball as an assistant coach for multiple NBA teams and as the General Manager/President for Basketball Operations for the Dallas Mavericks. Nelson has also been an assistant coach on the Lithuanian national team where he has helped lead them to three Olympic bronze medals.
