As a defensive end from 1986 through 1989, Don Parrish earned two First Team All-CCIW awards. As a sophomore, he recorded 62 total tackles, including four quarterback sacks. Junior year he increased the number to 71 tackles. As a team captain during his senior season, Don recorded 72 total tackles with six quarterback sacks. He also received Football Gazette All-American honors and received the team’s James Parmelee Memorial Award, which is presented to the Wheaton player most respected for his dedication, diligence and discipline.
Don’s greatest lesson learned through the Wheaton football program were about sacrifice and the truth that “you never fully understand the value of something until you lose part of yourself to gain it - the greater the personal sacrifice, the greater the lasting value.”
