Dennis Bennema had a truly outstanding career as a member of the Crusader tennis teams in the early 1960s. He posted a sparkling 47-8 record in the No. 1 singles position for Wheaton in his final three years. In addition, he went undefeated in his freshman season. Bennema was an All-American selection twice, and he captained the Crusader tennis team his junior and senior seasons. Dennis notes that, “the camaraderie between teammates and the leadership of Coach Swartz will remain my most special memories.”
