As a senior Dave posted a 14-0 record heading into the NCAA College Division National Championships, where he finished third and earned All-American honors. As a junior, he placed second at the NCAA College Division Championships, was named the most valuable wrestler at the NCAA Regionals and won the Great Lakes Invitational and Knox Invitational. His sophomore year, Dave was a champion in the first Great Lakes Invitational and won the team’s Jim Elliot Trophy at the end of the season.
