Dave McCarrell had an outstanding career as a four-year starting quarterback for the Crusader football team from 1979-1982. Dave ranks high in the Wheaton record books for career completions, passing yards, and touchdown passes. As a senior, Dave set CCIW records with 185 completions in 376 attempts for 2,621 yards and led the nation with 22 touchdown passes and 2,505 total offensive yards. Wheaton led the nation in passing. He earned All-CCIW First Yeam and CCIW Offensive Co-Player of the Year honors, and was selected to the Pizza Hut All-American team, the CoSIDA Division III All-America Third Team, and the Associated Press All-America Honorable Mention team.
