Dan Lindquist won four consecutive CCIW Championships in men’s tennis at No. 1 singles (1989-92), becoming the only player in the history of the league to win four CCIW “Most Outstanding Player” awards in men’s tennis. He also won four CCIW doubles championships (two at No. 1 and two at No. 2), with four different doubles partners. Dan was selected to participate in the NCAA Division III Men’s Tennis Tournament three times in his career and was a finalist for the Division III Arthur Ashe Award for athletics, scholarship and community service.
Dan notes of his time as a member of the tennis team, “While competing and winning can be gratifying, the relationships that are formed with teammates are what bring lasting meaning to the experience.” He adds, “For me the most meaningful memory of playing tennis at Wheaton was the opportunity to play for Coach Jack Swartz. While he possessed virtually no knowledge of tennis, I was richly blessed by his humility and his passion for Jesus.”
