Christian Cryder, a 1991 graduate, had a strong career as a pole vaulter, earning All-American status in the event three times during his career at Wheaton. He is a three-time outdoor conference champion and still holds the school’s indoor and outdoor records. Christian qualified for nationals five times beginning with his sophomore year. As a junior, Christian finished third in the nation in the indoor pole vault and second in the nation in the outdoor pole vault. He finished third in the outdoor pole vault as a senior.
