Cheryl Lindberg Baird, class of 1988, earned All-CCIW First Team honors as a junior and senior, and All-Midwest Region First Team and All-American Second Team honors as a senior in 1987. As a senior, she led Wheaton to the NCAA Division III National Championships for the first time in its history. Wheaton ranked 20th in the final national poll and posted a 37-17 record, a school record for victories. In Baird’s junior and senior seasons, Wheaton won 70 and lost 32 matches and placed second in the CCIW Tournament. Cheryl also ranks high in nearly every statistical category in the Wheaton volleyball record book.
