Carol Teune Bishop played all the competitive sports offered for women at Wheaton during her four years. She was a team captain and the high scorer in basketball and field hockey and was the No. 2 player on the tennis team.
Carol holds fond memories for her coaches La Vern Bjorklund, Faye Philipp and Martha Baptista. “Through my experiences in athletic competition at Wheaton, I learned how to strive to maintain a positive perspective regardless of the outcome of the contest,” she said. “We learned the importance of being gracious in both winning and losing. These lessons have served me well throughout a lifetime of teaching, coaching, officiating and personal involvement in competitive sports.”
