Brett Stamm won NCAA national titles in 1980 as a sophomore at 167 pounds and in 1982 as a senior at 177 pounds. He also placed fourth at the NCAAs as a freshman in 1979, fourth as a junior in 1981, and won three CCIW titles. As a senior, Stamm won five major tournaments including the Wheaton Invitational, CCIW and NCAAs. Brett was also rewarded a NCAA Post Graduate Scholarship for his master’s work at Augustana (S.D.).
With everything he has to be proud of, Stamm makes a point to remember a lesson he learned in his four-year career at Wheaton. “Fame and honors are soon forgotten,” says Stamm. “It is important to focus on what counts - serving Christ and impacting those I meet each day for Him.”
