Brad Emerson was an All-American offensive lineman for the Crusader football team in the mid 1980s. Wheaton compiled 2-7 records in Brad’s first two seasons with Wheaton but improved to 6-3 records in each of his last two seasons.
Brad comments, “I thought things weren’t so great as a freshman, but was grateful over the remainder of my college career that men like J.R. Bishop, Cliff Schimmels and my father encouraged me to keep trying and never give up.” Emerson was named a “Little All-American” by the Associated Press at the conclusion of his senior season and he went on to sign a free agent contract with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
