Bill Ladd, a 1961 graduate, was a decorated two-sport athlete for the Crusaders in football and baseball. He carried the ball for Wheaton 159 times for 801 yards and scored 11 touchdowns in three seasons. In 1959, he earned All-CCIW honors, and played on Wheaton’s 1958 undefeated conference champion for Harve Chrouser.

He also pitched for Lee Pfund, and ranks high in numerous career categories, including earned-run average, wins, losses, strikeouts, walks and innings.
