Wheaton College Athletics

Barbara Carlson Burwell, class of 1965, displayed her athletic talents during her time at Wheaton on four different teams. Burwell was a four-year starter on the field hockey team as a defensive back. The field hockey team suffered only one loss in her four years as a key defensive contributor. She played four years of basketball and was a member of the varsity club in her junior and senior seasons. In those campaigns, Wheaton went a combined 20-2. She also played three years of tennis and in her freshman year she played on the softball team.
