Men's Thunder track & field team sends three to Nationals

COMPLETE LIST OF NATIONAL QUALIFIERS

Wheaton, Ill. - Three members of the Wheaton College Men's Track & Field team will compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships beginning on Thursday May 23 on the campus of UW-LaCrosse in LaCrosse, Wis.

Senior Luke Vance qualified for Nationals in the men's 800-meter run for the third consecutive year. A two-time outdoor All-American, Vance posted a qualifying time of 1:49.91 that he posted on April 25 at the GINA Relays in Hillsdale, Michigan. Vance's time is first among the 20 qualifiers that will be competing in the prelims on Friday at 7:25 PM (CDT).

Senior Parker Thompson (PICTURED LEFT) will be competing in the men's 1,500-meter run at Nationals for the third consecutive year. His qualifying time of 3:51.89 that was posted at the UW-LaCrosse NCAA Qualifier on May 17 is the 20th-fastest time among the 20 participants that will compete in the prelims on Thursday at 4:45 PM (CDT).

Junior and James Waterman will be making his second appearance at Nationals. His qualifying time of 9:08.90 on May 3 at the 2013 CCIW Championships in the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase is the 19th fastest time among 20 participants in the prelims. Waterman will be competing in the event for the second consecutive year when the prelims are run on Thursday at 8:30 PM (CDT)
