Naperville, Ill. – The Wheaton College men's distance medley relay team of
Mark Phillips,
Kyle Williams,
Luke Vance and
James Waterman finished fifth on Friday night at the 2013 NCAA Division III Indoor Track and Field Championships. The quartet earns All-Amercan recognition from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) by finishing in the top eight with a time of 10:02.01.
UW-LaCrosse won the race with a time of 9:59.58 on a late surge and Tufts finished second in 10:00.23. Geneseo State took third place with a time of 10:00.33, Haverford finished fourth in 10:01.43, Wheaton's time of 10:02.01 put the Thunder in fifth, MIT was sixth in 10:03.97, RIT posted a time of 10:04.23 in seventh place, North Central finished eighth in 10:06.08, Bates was ninth in 10:08.10 and UW-Stevens Point finished 10th in 10:10.68.
Wheaton was as high as third place during the the third leg of the race in the 800-meter portion of the relay.
