Wheaton, Ill.- Wheaton sophomore
Josh Ward has been named this week's CCIW Men's Tennis Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon. Ward was a perfect 8-0 on Wheaton's spring trip to Orlando last week including 4-0 records in both singles and doubles.
Playing at #2 singles, Ward defeated Staten Island's Hector Molina (6-1, 6-1), Albion's Eric Guindi (6-1, 4-6, 10-2), Augustana's (S.D) Collin Noldner (6-2, 6-4) and Bethel's Reggie Ronning (6-4, 4-6, 12-10). Ward teamed with
Ryan Kreis at #1 doubles for victories against Staten Island (8-5), Albion (8-5), Augustana (S.D.) (9-8) and Bethel (8-4).
Ward is the second Thunder player to win the award this season.
