Wheaton, Ill. - Three members of the Wheaton Women's Track & Field team will compete at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships beginning on Thursday May 24 on the campus of Claremont-Mudd-Scripps in Claremont, California.
Senior
Renee Bettinger (PICTURED LEFT) qualified for Nationals in the women's 100-meter dash with a school-record time of 11.99-seconds that she posted on May 17 at the UW-LaCrosse Last Chance Meet. Bettinger's time is ninth among the 22 qualifiers that will be competing in the prelims on Friday at 6:30 PM (PDT). The Thunder senior is a returning All-American in the event after an eighth-place finish in the 100-meter dash at the 2011 Division III Championships in Delaware, Ohio.
Senior
Jaime Orewiler (PICTURED RIGHT) will be competing in the women's 1,500-meter run at Nationals for the second consecutive year. Orewiler's school-record qualifying time of 4:34.20 that she posted at the CCIW Championships on May 3 is the 14th-fastest time among the 22 participants that will compete in the prelims on Thursday at 4:30 PM (PDT).
Junior
Annie Shults will be making her first appearance at Nationals on Thursday at 7:50 PM (PDT) in the prelims of the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase. Shults' qualifying time of 11:00.60 was the 20th-fastest time of the 22 qualifiers for the event.
