Wheaton, Ill. - Wheaton College's Kirsten Boyer was named the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Women's Tennis Player of the Week on Wednesday.

Boyer, a sophomore, went 3-1 last week and was undefeated in singles play. She defeated University of Chicago's Tiffany Nguyen (2-6, 6-2, 11-9) at No. 5 singles and also defeated Lake Forest's Nicole Stroner (6-0, 6-0) at No. 4 singles. She teamed with Sarah Ray to defeat Stroner and Aimee Fadden (8-0) at No. 2 doubles.

So far this season, Boyer leads the Thunder in singles wins with a 17-1 record, including a current win streak of 13 straight. She has also teamed with Ray to compile a 14-4 mark in doubles competition.
