Tim McCrary named Co-CCIW Player of the Week in men's basketball

Tim McCrary has been named a CCIW Player of the Week three times this season
Wheaton, Ill. – Wheaton College sophomore Tim McCrary has been named the Co-College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) “Player of the Week” in men's basketball for the week ending January 24. This week's selection is McCrary's third recognition as the CCIW “Player of the Week” for this season. He also earned the award for November 23 and on December 14. Wheaton is currently 12-5 this season and is 4-2 in conference play.

McCrary averaged 24.5 points and 13 rebounds per game. McCrary shot 62.5% (20-32) from the field, with 5.5 assists per game and 2.5 blocked shots per game.

McCrary scored a game-high 31 points, with 12 rebounds last Wednesday night in Wheaton's dramatic 66-65 victory against #17-Illinois Wesleyan. On Saturday he led the Thunder with 18 points and 14 rebounds in a 70-43 victory against Elmhurst. McCrary has recorded a "double-double" in points and rebounds in four straight games and he has done it a total of seven times this season.

For the season, McCrary has averaged 20.4 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. He has shot 56.9% (140-246) from the field, and contributed 4.6 assists per game and 1.2 blocked shots per game.

In Wheaton's six conference games, McCrary has averaged 24.7 points per game, with 10 rebounds per game. He has shot 60.8% (56-97) from the field, with 4.7 assists per game and 1.3 blocked shots per game. McCrary leads the CCIW in scoring and rebounds against league opponents. The sophomore is also ranked second in the league in assists and fourth in blocked shots.
