Women's golf takes third place at Bethel Classic

Casi Blanton shot a season-low round of 76 to take second place individually on Saturday
South Bend, Ind. - The Wheaton College women's golf team finished in third place at the two-day Bethel College (Ind.) Classic on Saturday.

Host Bethel stormed back with a 309 on day two to win the nine-team tournament with a team score of 650. Hope College took second with a 655,  Wheaton was next at 656 and was followed by University of St. Francis (Ind.) 666, Ohio Dominican University 677, Malone College 704, Indiana Tech 732, Robert Morris University 765 and Bethel B team 805.

Casi Blanton was Wheaton's top finisher with a season-low round of 76 for a two-day total of 158. She took second place individually and was named to the All-Tournament team. Brittany Bronson shot 80-86-166, Debby Bouzeos added 83-83-166, Rachel Beveridge carded 86-80-166 and Kate Ryan tallied 90-88-178.

The Wheaton men's and women's golf teams are both playing this weekend tournament at Blackthorn Golf Club and the two teams won the combined title. They were followed by Bethel and Ohio Dominican in second and third.

The Thunder turn around on Monday to play at the Carthage College Fall Invitational starting at 9:00 AM.
