Wheaton, Ill. - The Thunder women's tennis team opened its 2009-10 season on Wednesday with an 8-1 victory against Olivet Nazarene University (2-1). The match, which began at 5 PM was played well into darkness, utilizing the new competition lights on the Wheaton tennis courts.

Elizabeth Worsowicz,
Jill Casserly,
Lindsey Hallett and
Sara Federschmidt each picked up singles victories in the match. Freshman
Kirsten Boyer earned her first collegiate singles win with a 6-3, 6-2 victory at number-five singles.
Wheaton will travel to Wisconsin-Whitewater on Saturday morning for a match against the Warhawks.
