Naperville, Ill. - Wheaton College's Casi Blanton was named College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW) Co-Women's Golfer of the Week on Tuesday.

Blanton shot an 85 and was tournament runner-up behind teammate Brittany Bronson (83) at the North Central Cardinal Classic at Cress Creek Country Club on September 8 in Naperville. Wheaton won the eight-team event with a team total of 350. She also finished seventh at the Olivet (Michigan) Invitational held at the Medalist Golf Club in Marshall, Mich. over the weekend. Blanton shot an 83 on day one and followed that with an 81 (164 total) on Saturday. Wheaton finished fourth at the 15-team event with a team score of 693. The junior golfer is a chemistry major.

So far this season, Blanton leads Wheaton's golfers with an 82.7 stroke average through four events this fall.
