Wheaton, Ill. – Wheaton College women’s tennis players
Jordan Hook and
Elizabeth Worsowicz have each earned recognition as Division III All-Americans from the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA). The tandem helped lead Wheaton to an 18-5 overall record, a ranking of 18th in the final ITA Division III poll of the 2008-09 season, and advancement to the Third Round of the NCAA-III Team Championships.
Jordan Hook is Wheaton's first four-time All-American in women's tennis
Hook, a senior, was tabbed as an All-American both as a singles player and for her doubles work with Worsowicz. This marks the fourth consecutive year that Hook has earned recognition as an All-American. A four-time NCAA-III Championship participant, Hook posted a 24-3 singles record this year and is ranked 14th in the final ITA National singles ranking for the year and ranked third in the Central Region.
In her four seasons at Wheaton, Hook compiled a 112-8 record, winning 93.3-percent of her matches over the span. She is the first women’s tennis player in Wheaton College history to record 100 career victories and her 112 career wins is the eighth-highest total ever by a Division III women’s tennis player. The four-year standout compiled a 96-21 record in four years of doubles competition, pairing with five partners in that time.
Worsowicz, a freshman for the Thunder, paired with Hook to compile a 27-5 record as Wheaton’s number-one doubles team this year. The duo advanced to the Quarterfinals of the 2009 NCAA-III Doubles Championship. Worsowicz posted a 21-4 record in singles action this year, playing primarily at number-two singles for the Thunder. The team of Worsowicz and Hook is ranked 13th in the final ITA Division III Doubles rankings for 2009 and ranked fourth in the Central Region.
