Wheaton, Ill.
– Wheaton College freshman Heather Crockett has been recognized as a Division III honorable mention All-American by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches (ACWPC) for her efforts with the Thunder water polo team in the 2009 season.

Crockett earned honorable mention recognition as a driver. She led the offense in every match this season, leading the squad in minutes played. In her debut season with the Thunder Crockett scored 33 goals, second on the team in goals scored.

Crockett is the third Wheaton player to earn All-American recognition from the ACWPC, joining Hannah Veldt, an honorable mention pick; and Michelle Anderson who was a Second Team All-American and honorable mention selection in her career.

Assistant coach Brittney Ames says of Crockett, "Heather Crockett has become a tremendous asset to the Wheaton water polo team. Her willingness to be utilized wherever the team needs her, along with
her ability to adapt to all situations in the pool, has led to her becoming one of the most valuable members of our team. Her agressive play, especially on defense, has become legendary as she is developing into one of the best hole set defenders this team and conference has seen. She has become a leader both in and out of the water, gaining the respect of her coaches and fellow teammates."
