Wheaton, Ill. - The Wheaton baseball team will compete in the four-team CCIW Baseball Tournament beginning May 7 in Kenosha, Wisconsin. Wheaton's participation in the tournament will be the next scheduled game for the Thunder, as the contest between Wheaton and Millikin that was rained out on May 1 will not be re-scheduled.

Wheaton posted a 13-7 record in conference play this season and has earned the number-three seed in the tournament. The Thunder will face second-seeded Illinois Wesleyan (14-7) on Thursday in one of two games to open the tournament. Top-seeded Carthage (17-1) will take on fourth-seeded Augustana (10-10) in Thursday's other game at the double-elimination tournament.

Wheaton's 13 wins in conference play this year marked a Wheaton single-season record for wins in CCIW play for the program, improving on the 12 conference wins that the team posted last year. This year's participation in the tournament marks only the second time that the Wheaton baseball program has competed in the four-team tournament, with Wheaton's first appearance coming last season.

This year's Thunder baseball team has posted a 21-17 overall record. Last season, Wheaton recorded a 23-14 overall mark. The two successive 20-win seasons marks the first time in more than 105 years of Wheaton baseball that the program has had consecutive seasons of 20 or more victories.

PLEASE NOTE: The Wheaton-Millikin game that was rained out on May 1, will not be re-scheduled.
