Final Results
Port St. Lucie, Fla. - The Wheaton College women's golf team finished in 15th place after the final round of the NCAA Division III National Championships on Saturday.
A total of 21 teams are playing at the par-72 Wanamaker Golf Club this week. Methodist was the team champion with a four-round total score of 1,257(321-310-310-316, +105 over par). The Monarchs were followed by Wisconsin-Stevens Point (1,282), Gustavus Adolphus (1,297), Southwestern (1,298), Otterbein (1,303), Wisconsin-Eau Claire (1,306), Allegheny (1,309), Middlebury (1,311), Illinois Wesleyan (1,313), St. Mary's Indiana (1,318), Olivet (1,321), DePauw (1,321), Amherst (1,325), St. Lawrence (1,334), Wheaton (1,338), Wartburg (1,347), St. Thomas (1,358), Puget Sound (1,378), Texas-Tyler (1,380), Transylvania (1,435) and Illinois College (1,441).
The fourth and final round was the Thunder's best of the week as the team shot 320 (+32 over par). The 320 score was the second-best round in school history next to the 310 at St. Ambrose two years ago. Wheaton shot its three lowest scores of the tournament as
Casi Blanton shot 77,
Rachel Beveridge had a 78 and
Jenny Speckman carded a 79.
Brittany Bronson ended with an 86 and
Julie Yonkus finished with an 89. Blanton made three birdies on her round.
In the final individual standings, Speckman was Wheaton's top golfer with a 24th-place finish and a final four-round score of 326 (+38 over par). Blanton cracked the top 50-with a tie for 49th place (333).

Jay Martin was proud of his team's effort on the final day of the championships. "To shoot the third-best round of the day out of all the teams, that's a great way to end the season and it serves as a stepping stone for next year," Martin said.
The third round was a nine-stroke improvement overall Wheaton as the team shot 333 (+45 over par). Speckman carded her second-straight 81 to lead the way. Her teammates were close behind her as Blanton shot 83, Beveridge scored an 84, Bronson had an 85 and Yonkus shot 93.
In the second round, the Thunder shot one shot better than the previous day with a team score of 342 (+54 over par). Speckman shot an 81 to lead Wheaton's scorers and she was followed by Bronson (86), Yonkus (87), Blanton (88) and Beveridge (93).
Wheaton's first round team score was 343 (+55 over par). Bronson led the Thunder with a 79 and had a run of three-straight birdies on holes No. 2, 3 and 4 during her round. Blanton and Speckman, who both shot 85s, Beveridge shot 94 and Yonkus carded a 99.
