Adrienne Munoz was named College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) Softball Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Munoz, a sophomore from Wildomar, Calif., helped lead Wheaton to a 5-2 record last week as she hit .522 (12-for-23) with two home runs and a double. She recorded a .826 slugging percentage for the week, along with seven RBI and nine runs scored. In Wheaton's 7-6 win at North Park in eight innings on April 22, Munoz was three-for-four with three runs scored as she belted a solo home run in the top of the seventh inning to tie the game at 6-6 and send the contest into extra innings. In a 9-0 win against Elmhurst on April 23, Munoz was two-for-two with three runs scored and two walks. She also hit a home run in Wheaton's 13-8 victory against Millikin on April 24.
On the season, Munoz is second on the team with a .364 batting average and leads the team with four homers, 26 RBI and 31 runs scored.
