Men's golf is third after the first two rounds of the CCIW Championships

TOURNAMENT RESULTS

Springfield, Ill. - The first two rounds of the four-round 2009 CCIW Men's Golf Championships was held this weekend at The Rail Golf Course in Springfield, Illinois. Wheaton is in third place, with the final two rounds of the tournament scheduled to be played on May 1-2 at Whisper Creek in Huntley, Illinois.

Illinois Wesleyan leads the tournament with a 557, Carthage is second with a 576, Wheaton shot 581 in third place, Millikin is tied for fourth with a 596, North Central is also tied for fourth with 596 strokes, Elmhurst is sixth with 611 strokes, Augustana shot a 620 in seventh place and North Park carded a 656 in eighth place.

Wheaton freshmen Steven Moore carded a 68 on Saturday, paired with his 73 on Friday for a two-day total of 141 in a tie for fifth place. Fellow freshman Dan Downey recorded a 70 on Saturday, with a 73 in the first round for a tournament total of 143 in a tie for eighth place.

Greg Richardson has a two-round total of 147 in a tie for 13th place, Chase Yacko is tied for 17th with a 150 and Bryan Sandvig has a 154 in 26th place.
