Des Moines, Iowa – The Wheaton women's basketball team returned to action on Thursday afternoon with a contest at Grand View University, ranked 20th in the NAIA Division II. The Vikings (11-5) topped Wheaton 75-69, as Wheaton falls to 5-4 on the year. Wheaton will conclude its two-game trip to Iowa on Saturday afternoon with a 2 PM tipoff at Luther College in Decorah, Iowa. The Vikings led by as many as 11 points in the first half with a 25-14 advantage with 9:54 remaining before halftime. Wheaton whittled the hosts' lead to four points by halftime with a 34-30 Grand View lead at the intermission.
Grand View held a narrow one-point advantage at 62-61 in the final three minutes of regulation when the Vikings hit a three-pointer and a layup on consecutive possessions to extend their lead to six points at 67-61 with 2:26 left in the game. Wheaton freshman
Brooke Olson hit a three-pointer with 1:56 left in the game to cut the GVU lead to 67-64. However, Wheaton was unable to get closer as the Vikings shot 7-of-8 from the free throw line in the final 1:34 of the game to secure the victory.
Sophomore
Lindsey Brenneman led the Thunder with 18 points, as she made three three-pointers and recorded two steals.

Sarah Jones (PICTURED RIGHT) and
Annie Bowen each tallied nine points for the Thunder. Jones added seven rebounds and two steals. Freshman
Breanna Bohlen added eight points and four rebounds.
Jennifer Jorgensen led Grand View with 22 points, five assists and two blocked shots. Bailey Schechinger scored 12 points, with eight rebounds. Jamie Sickles and Danielle Ballard each scored 10 points for the hosts.
Wheaton tallied a 43.9% (25-57) field goal percentage, with 44.4% (8-18) from three-point range and 76% (11-14) at the free throw line. The Vikings shot 46.4% (25-56) from the floor, with 46.2% (6-13) from three-point range and 89.5% (17-19) at the charity stripe. Grand View out-rebounded the Thunder 30-21, with a 9-5 edge on the offensive glass.
