Bill Harris to be honored by the Wheaton Athletic Department on January 9

Wheaton, Ill. – On Saturday January 9, the Wheaton College Athletic Department will honor former head men's basketball coach Bill Harris who announced his retirement last Spring.

There will be a reception in the Sports and Recreation Complex on Wheaton's campus from 3:00 PM to 4:30 PM before the men's game vs. North Central on January 9. Later in the afternoon, Coach Harris will also be recognized at halftime of the game between the nationally-ranked Thunder men's basketball team and North Central College. The game between Wheaton and North Central begins at 4:30 PM in King Arena.

Wheaton Athletic Director Dr. Tony Ladd notes of the event, “Because Coach Harris retired in March after the conclusion of last year's men's basketball season, we had no opportunity to honor him last season. We are looking forward to getting a chance to recognize his accomplishments on January 9. For those of us who came to know and love him, this will provide an opportunity to express our appreciation for him and for what he has meant to Wheaton College.”
