Mequon, Wis. - The Wheaton College wrestling team got two top-10 finishes at the Concordia (Wis.) Open on Saturday.
Justin Marble turned in the best performance of the day for the Thunder. The 184-pounder went 5-2 on the day and took fifth place in his weight class.
"Marble was definitely a highlight today," Wheaton head coach Jim Gruenwald said. "The only people he lost to were a Division II All-American and a Division III All-American."
"This tournament was head and shoulders more difficult than the last tournament we were at," Gruenwald continued. "Wheaton hasn't been to this tournament in a while and there is top-flight competition here."
At 174 pounds,
Justin Tomal went 3-2 to pick up a top-10 finish.
The other wrestlers who participated included
Caleb Cardenas at 133 pounds (0-2),
Jonathan Sbraccia at 141 pounds (0-2),
Stephen Takashima (1-2) and
Casey Krahn (0-2) at 149 pounds,
Matthew Cordell at 157 pounds (0-2) and
